What was the problem?
Rig files contained no information that could be used to reliably export data.
What was the solution?
The Character Node is a custom geometry class that has information about itself and can be used with the Character Animation Exporter.
Before publishing a character, the animation export path is assigned along with the bones associated with the character, and in the case of Monsters, the stage-specific export scales. This frees the animator from having to keep track of multiple character’s settings and from using the default CryTek exporter.
The Character Sequence Editor stores an animation’s name, its frame range, whether it’s additive, if it’s a partial body export, if bones should be excluded on export, and in the case of a Monster, which stage scales to export.
